Wilsonville, Oregon, is a fast-growing city, supported by a diverse economy, a beautiful natural environment, and home to many high-tech companies. Initially, the City’s web presence was dispersed throughout five websites each with its own URL, unique look, and different content management system backend (Main City Website; City Transportation System; City Library; Parks and recreation, economic development). This meant the City manually duplicated calendar events, news articles, and documents for each site.
The new website consolidated the five old separate sites into a single, scalable content management system. The new site supports the main city website, three separately branded sub-sites, and the ability to expand with future specialty sub-sites. Each of the five subsites has its unique look and navigation but share:
• Calendars with the option to filter categories.
• News with the option to filter categories.
• Document and forms area with option to filter categories.
• Search results with auto-filter the search results for that specific subsite.
• Email notification sign-up page for seamless end-user experience.
The new visual design reflects the image of a fast-growing modern city that prides itself on the high quality of life enjoyed by residents, commuting workers, and those who visit Wilsonville.
