Beatrice, Nebraska, wanted to expand resources for its community by providing them with a modern website that is simple to navigate.
The old Beatrice website was outdated visually and structurally. Residents consistently complained about how difficult finding content was. The homepage featured an overwhelming amount of content and it lacked a search bar. Staff also had trouble creating and maintaining pages due to a content management system that was difficult to work with.
When searching for a new web developer, Beatrice did not need to look far. As a codification client of Municode's since 1986, the city partnered with them again to design their brand new website. Now, the community of Beatrice has an easy to navigate website that looks modern and sleek. With the top mega menu and quick links based on the most visited pages, anyone can find what they need with a just few simple clicks. A calendar is also available after scrolling down, showing the week ahead as well as a link to visit the full one. This calendar can sync with iCal and Google Calendar, ensuring the community does not miss an event. Beatrice is committed to an open government which is why the Government tab features a dedicated Transparency section, an asset carried over from the previous website. Because Municode also hosts their online code, both Beatrice's municipal code and web content are searchable within the same search bar. On the staff's end, the simple Content Management System ensures anyone on staff can create or maintain content without extensive training or knowledge.
